Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Geologist to join our team of professionals in Richmond, VA. In this role you will have opportunities to use your knowledge of geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, physics, etc. to provide world-class consulting services to a variety of clients.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Performing field work, data collection, data interpretation and evaluation;
Perform office-based data review and geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for the identification of geologic hazards;
Perform subsurface field geologic exploration tasks including drilling and test pit explorations;
Perform various media sampling (groundwater, surface water, soil, air, etc.);
Perform Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments consistent with ASTM standards; and
Perform data compilation, report writing and other related duties to support a project team.
Job Requirements
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
BS in Geology or Hydrogeology required; MS preferred;
The candidate must be detail-oriented, and a team player with good communication, analytical, organization, and time management skills;
Experience performing soil classifications is required;
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills are required, along with willingness to work as part of a group;
Ability to operate and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment;
Exhibit strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with other data analysis and database tools is a plus;
Performance of work in inclement weather conditions following OSHA requirements;
Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis during work;
Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license, be able to drive a company vehicle, willingness and exhibit a willingness to travel for field work as dictated by project demands which could be upwards of 50% of the time and periodically adjust personal schedules to meet project needs; and
Completed 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training and current, valid refresher course.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
