POSITION SUMMARY


The Senior Product Development Manager will partner with Product Leadership to evolve high-level strategic vision into actionable tactics and helping to drive the overall prioritization of new product launches.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Product Design & Development



  • Owning and driving the design and development of new, innovative products ensuring close partnership with product innovation lead, consumer insights, sales, competitive intelligence, pricing, underwriting, risk, reinsurance, reserving, filing, legal marketing and others to deliver a final design that aligns with the initial product idea and targeted distribution channels.

  • Leveraging the technical expertise of key business partners across the organization when designing product

  • Driving and owning the product development effort, decisions and tollgate presentations through Tollgate 1-feasibility, Tollgate 2-final design, Tollgate 3-launch ensuring the final product offers profitable growth to Genworth and value to the consumer.?

  • Owning product performance as it is establishing in the marketplace and making the recommendation to exit the product or complete full build in Tollgate 4

  • Considering multiple distribution channel needs in designing and developing new products

  • Provides direction to filing team in addressing more complex objections

  • Providing guidance and direction to the implementation/project management team and makes product related decisions throughout the build

  • Collaborating with external consultants as needed to design products and positioning to maximize profitable growth

  • Collaborating with Sales and Marketing to develop the Product Launch / Go-To-Market strategy, defining value proposition, key messaging and differentiators for the product


Product Management



  • Leading Product Council for respective product set to drive strategy, communicate the status of projects and address issues as they arrive

  • Participating in discussions for reinsurance coverage

  • Providing strategic direction and prioritization for compliance issues and new product deferred items

  • Providing technical product support for the organization

  • As needed, provide product management support for the inforce block, including products in runoff


Product Innovation Support



  • Engaging in product creation workshops, contributing to generation of content/ideas

  • Supports internal and external training

  • Provides technical subject matter expertise for assigned product set


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • A four-year degree in marketing, business or related field

  • 5+ years? experience in an insurance product role

  • Must have in depth knowledge of annuities.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to manage and execute simultaneous projects and tasks

  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative

  • Aptitude for designing products based on high level conceptualization, utilizing cross-functional insights and expertise

  • Strong critical thinking skills utilizing analytical, quantitative and data-driven approach to decision making, problem solving and strategic development

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills with ability to convey new product information to a broad audience with differing needs

  • Demonstrated record of partnering with teams across an organization and influencing to achieve business results across multiple teams who may have competing goals

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, understand trade-offs and/or new opportunities with technical and non-technical employees

  • Strong sense of urgency and time management skills

  • Effective presentation skills to small and large groups


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • 10+ years of professional job-related experience

  • Advanced degree strongly preferred

  • Strong customer focus or prior experience in a customer / consumer facing role in the insurance or financial services industry

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
