Fareva is currently seeking an experienced Control Electrician to join our team in Richmond, VA.

About the role:



Fareva Richmond Engineering Department will be formulating a new group within the engineering department to lead projects from design to startup, the new groups scope of work with be the following:



1. New equipment installations?



2. Continuous Improvement projects



3. Existing Machine rebuilds



Serves as Facilities Packaging Controls Electrician for the Engineering Department at the, FAREVA, Richmond site.? As such, is responsible for performing electrical controls upgrades of packaging equipment, overhaul of existing packaging line controls/control component repairs and other related tasks supporting the Operational Efficiency (OEE) of the Fareva Richmond site packaging lines. Position requires total understanding of the operation of packaging equipment, able to perform root cause failure analysis and perform electrical control repairs/upgrades to improve the performance of our equipment. Packing equipment consist liquid and solid filler, cappers, labelers, primary and secondary packaging equipment. Follows current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adheres to all appropriate standard operating procedures (SOP) and environmental, health and safety-related policies.



What you'll do:



Periodically tests all electrical control components and perform electrical control overhaul of packaging equipment/lines to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Can work singularly or as a team with other trades or contractors as assigned.? Able to locate information in operator equipment manuals.? Must be able to effectively communicate and coordinate the shutdown of equipment for maintenance.? Fully trained in the use of test equipment: ohm meter, megger, amp meter, voltage meter.? Knowledgeable of various industrial electrical systems: variable speed drives; motor control centers; control wiring and components.


Installs and repairs electrical control systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment following FAREVA, Richmond, VA. SOP, national electrical code (NEC), manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications, and safe electrical practices.? .? Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervision the status and concerns of critical equipment.?


Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as control wiring, HMI diagnoses, general knowledge of software logic. Trouble shooting and replaces damaged or broken component or perform software trouble shooting. Job task may also include the total overhaul of equipment or line electrical control systems.


Works together as a team with other trades as assigned.? Technical Support and Training Able to work with other groups in bringing failed equipment back on line.??


Performs other electrical duties as requested by senior management, including but not limited to driving company vehicles to off-site locations to obtain/deliver equipment and/or parts.?



Our ideal candidate:


Education and experience



  • High School diploma.

  • Virginia State Journeyman?s card

  • Minimum of 5 years? experience in automation and control systems.

  • Can work independently or in work groups

  • Skills and abilities:

  • Ten years? experience with packaging equipment and performing major repairs of the electrical systems.

  • Basic computer skills
