Strategic Pre-Clinical Program Manager

Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories PSS is searching for a Strategic Program Manager in Richmond, VA:
Strategic Pre-clinical Program Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Work with preclinical project leads, lead the planning discussions to facilitate/ project planning against the budget, timeline, and workplans
  • Develop the project trackers to support the preclinical team and the management
  • Follow-up potential concerns in deliverables or unforeseen issues, solicit feedbacks from preclinical teams in implementing contingency plans to mitigate risks
  • Maintain preclinical budget for on-going and upcoming projects and follow up with vendor/contract labs regarding invoices and contracts
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and work with management to make the appropriate recruitment if necessary
  • Communicate project status and issues to the management and other stakeholders through meetings and key documents (program timelines, budget breakdowns, vendor management etc.)
  • Provide mentoring for preclinical research staff to assist with achieving on-time and on-budget performance
  • Ensure lessons learned are shared/implemented across projects and stakeholders as needed, participate and/or lead continuous improvement activities
The ideal candidate would possess :

  • BS degree with at least 2 years of experiences on managing preclinical projects and programs
  • Certification in project management (PMP or PgMP) is highly desirable
  • Insight and experiences with rodent safety studies (GLP and nonGLP), quality and compliance requirements of pre-clinical studies are plus
  • Hands-on experience working in a pharmaceutical/device/CRO/tobacco organization as a Program and/or Project Manager is ideal
  • Broad knowledge of the drug/device/tobacco products development and regulatory processes
  • Strong project planning, leadership, negotiation and communication skills as well as an ability to contribute creative and practical solutions to problems
  • Advanced computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, power point, project management software, microsoft project, etc.)
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail, committed to quality deliverables and on time
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
  • Ability to inspire effective teamwork and motivate staff to obtain project objectives; matrix team player
  • Travel is required 10% of the time
Basic Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)
  • Extensive knowledge in time and cost estimate development
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Richmond, Virginia are encouraged to apply.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
