The Senior Oracle Database Administrator manages Oracle 11G and 12c databases.? This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining high-availability and high-performance environments, as well as implementing and managing the databases in a cost-efficient manner. Working within the Data Management team to support data process implementations, and database design standards. The team member must be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills, work seamlessly in a team environment, assist with automating and enhancing the maintenance processes, and have the ability to provide leadership and technical training to less proficient employees.



RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:



  • Installs, configures, and upgrades the Oracle server software.

  • Establishes and maintains backup and other recovery policies and procedures.

  • Works with IT and business teams to address issues specific to the database/application.

  • Monitors system performance and evaluates areas to improve efficiency.?

  • Specifies proper types of files organization, indexing methods, and security procedures.

  • Performs database change requests, patches, monitoring tools, and resolves exceptions, alerts, and issues.

  • Responsibilities include working with Development team understanding their business requirement and provide coding or review support. Assists with developing and maintaining the database design strategy.

  • Interfaces with BSA, ETC, DBA, Application Support, and Technical Support staff.

  • Addresses a variety of database issues including integration, maintenance/conversion, capacity planning, and new applications.

  • Support release processes for assigned projects/development team(s).

  • Diagnoses and resolves complex problems in a production Oracle environment.

  • Maintains database security and performs database refreshes.

  • Monitors the performance of the Oracle database system and implements the required changes to increase performance.

  • Responsible for providing trend analysis to support informed decisions regarding resource allocation management and maintains up-to-date documentation of all Oracle environments

  • Maintains availability and integrity of databases through multiple access schemes, facilitates sharing of common data by overseeing proper key and index management and data dictionary maintenance.

  • Develop understanding of and stay current with advances in information technology by reading manuals, trade periodicals, and technical reports relating to Oracle and SQL Server databases.

  • Experience in maintaining Golden Gate replication and ODI repositories is a plus.


EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION:


Bachelor?s degree in a related field.? Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.? Continuous learning, as defined by the Company?s learning philosophy, is required.? Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.



EXPERIENCE:


Eight (8)+ years progressive experience as an Oracle Database Administrator. Experience with backup and recovery procedures using RMAN and experience with Golden Gate or similar tool (i.e. Attunity, Data Mirror) is required.? Experience with SQL Server, Informatica, and/or ODI (or similar tools) is preferred.



SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:



  • Must have extensive knowledge of Oracle RDBMS (10g-12c), and DataGuard.

  • Ability to mentor teammates in business, information systems, data warehousing, and business intelligence concepts and techniques.

  • Must have experience with Oracle RMAN, ASM.

  • Performance tuning and OEM.

  • Proven skills communicating to multiple levels of an organization, including internal, customers, and vendor.

  • Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards and best practices.

  • Thorough knowledge of SQL required, and PL/SQL knowledge is desirable.

  • Knowledge of named PL/SQL objects like stored procedure, packages, function and database trigger

  • Advanced knowledge in Oracle RDBMS concepts

  • Ability to efficiently tune, debug, troubleshoot PL/SQL code

  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git / Mercurial / SVN

  • Good knowledge in OLTP, System Life Cycle Methodologies (SLDC) in Database Driven Application Development.

  • Ability to model normalized and dimensional data structures.

  • Ability to comprehend the consequences of various problem situations and address them or refer them for appropriate decision making.

  • Ability to understand business needs and conceptualize and implement information systems that support those business strategies.

  • Ability to interact with others to build consensus and get decisions implemented.

  • Ability to make competent, independent decisions.

  • Ability to be innovative, creative, and think outside of the box when presented with roadblocks.

  • Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
